Rockcastle Regional Named Among Best by U.S. News & World Report

Rockcastle Regional Hospital and Respiratory Care Center has been recognized as a Best Nursing Home for Long-Term Care for 2022-2023 by U.S. News & World Report.

Only 16 percent of the U.S. skilled-nursing facilities earned the “Best Nursing Home” designation this year. Rockcastle Regional earned its place on the list by achieving the highest possible rating, “High Performing,” for its long-term care services.

“We are a team of dedicated professionals who are committed to the highest level of care for every patient, every time,” said Tammy Brock, Rockcastle Regional chief nursing officer. “Consistent, quality care is the focus of our team, and this designation is a reflection of that commitment.”

For 2022-2023, U.S. News rated more than 15,000 nursing homes using data on care, safety, infection rates, staffing, and health inspections, weekend staffing, and infection rates that led to hospitalizations.

The Best Nursing Homes methodology factors data such as resident care, safety, and outcomes. To calculate the ratings, U.S. News evaluated each nursing home’s performance using a variety of data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The long-term care ratings include a variety of data points, including consistency of registered nurse staffing, use of antipsychotic drugs, and success in preventing emergency room and hospital visits.

“Our mission is to be the best ventilator-dependent long-term care facility for our patients in all aspects of their care and quality of life,” said Stephen A. Estes, Rockcastle Regional president and CEO. “Our designation as a ‘Best Nursing Home’ for long-term care is a testament to the full scope of care we provide our patients, and we are honored to be named among the best.”
